Most AI advice starts with an answer.
A platform to try. A use case to copy. A workflow someone automated over the weekend.
What it rarely starts with is your organization.
That leaves leaders evaluating solutions before they have decided what actually needs to change.
Starting with the technology and then hunting for somewhere to use it is one of the easiest ways to get AI wrong inside a small organization. The better place to start is with how the organization actually runs: how work gets done, how information moves, where decisions happen, what people need to know, where capacity is tight, and which parts of the operation were designed for conditions that are already changing.
AI is not simply giving organizations another set of tools. It is changing the environment they operate in. Customers are developing different expectations, competitors have new capabilities, employees need different skills, and some roles are beginning to change. Organizations can automate work that previously required people, but that also creates new decisions about where human judgment still matters and whether some of that work needs to exist at all.
That means the work is bigger than finding places to add AI to the systems we already have. Organizations need to figure out how those systems should be rethought for an AI era.
That does not mean changing everything at once. Progress can start with one focused opportunity, one useful decision, or one thing the organization understands better than it did five minutes ago.
That is exactly why we built Quick Wins.
Five minutes. One thing you can actually do.
The latest navaroAI issue, AI Is Moving Fast. You Don’t Have to Chase It., introduces Quick Wins, focused, practical actions designed to help small businesses and nonprofits move from the bigger questions surrounding AI to something they can learn, decide, or do in about five minutes.
New subscribers receive immediate access to the AI Orientation Guide for Small Businesses and Nonprofits, a practical resource covering six of the questions organizations encounter when beginning to make sense of AI.
When you’re ready to move beyond orientation and into operational implementation, the Paid Playbook and AI Governance Toolkit provide the next step.
